september 11 attacks

be it one of the biggest made ups in the history of modern world, or be it an outcome of the unordinary clashes of numerous coincidences, one thing is for sure. 9/11 attacks have definitely changed the course of the 21st century. actually "change" stands as an undermining word in this context. the attacks not just killed 2,976 civilians along with the 19 hijackers themselves, but opened up a ever-widening path of continuous casualties in diverse parts of the world. 9/11 did not just change the world, but it prescribed a big plan, the big plan of the 21st century.

it has been just 8 years now. but when you just glance these 8 years, you see that these attacks are the genesis of the modelling and development of the new world order. it is such an order, and it is in such a global scale that tentacles of it have evolved the west-oriented world into a post-9/11 syndrome. this syndrome includes the spread of xenophobia and islamophobia in the ideological and social level, it includes the wars in iraq and afghanistan in the level of realpolitik. it is no hard to see that the biggest benefiter is the united states. u.s. hegemony, which secured its place after the second world war widened and multiplied its spheres of influence.

these are just some of the prominent phenomena from the shelves of collective memory.
is it over? well, it's just 8 years now.
is it enough for them? i wanna say "we'll see", but the right answer seems to be "definitely not".
